Food

I'm supremely odd in that I kind of resent that we need to eat food. Yes, there are foods that I LOVE, but for the most part, I just really hate that it costs so much. And I'm SO picky. I'll go weeks wanting nothing but cereal. Literally nothing else will taste good! Yeah, I'm strange. But you see, boyfriend does NOT feel that way, so here's the menu for this week :-)

Monday - Pumpkin Soup and Grilled Cheese, salad

Tuesday - Penne with roasted garlic, broccoli, white cheddar and white wine sauce, bread, salad

Wednesday - Spaghetti, caesar salad, bread

Thursday - Spanish rice, chicken and roasted veggies, caesar salad, bread

Friday - Leftover Pumpkin Soup and Grilled Cheese, salad

Not too inspired, but I'm trying to eat on the cheap this month. Next week will be pretty pasta heavy also I think, although I would like to get in more veggies somewhere. Perhaps thyme roasted carrots and potatoes? Summer sqaush? Corn? Yum.

I think it's finally fall

I love fall. But I am sad to see the 110+ degree weather go away! I absolutely abhor rain. It always makes me irrationally angry!

Some good things:
- My credit card balance is Zero. :-)
- We have a money PLAN and we're following it to the letter.

Some not so good things
- Our electric bill is 30 dollars more than I had budgeted for. Ugh. I blame my darling boyfriend who can't seem to get enough of the AC! I guess there is ONE good thing about rain… Anyway, now I have to figure out where to take money from in my budget to pay for the stupid thing. I HATE the idea of taking it from savings/debt repayment, but I really don't see anyplace else! Which brings me to one more point:

We. Need. To. Have. Fun. I'll fully admit that my debt repayment mania is making me way too cheap. As in, I literally do not budget anything in to go out for ice cream once a month! I barely budget enough for groceries! Boyfriend and I talked about this last night, and we've decided to give ourselves a little family fun money every month so when he suggests we do A, B, or C, my standard response will no longer be "we can't afford it." I suck. And of course, I'm not talking a LOT of money. But for petes sake, I shouldn't have anxiety over a freakin' In N Out burger being too expensive. So there's that.

So tonight we're going to sit down and rejigger our budget. I think it will be a good thing.
